These 6-ounce wild yellowfin tuna steaks arrive pre-cut and vacuum-sealed, ready for searing, slicing into sushi, or dicing for a poke bowl. We think it's some of the cleanest, most versatile fish you can keep in your freezer.
Our fishing partner harvests yellowfin tuna in the remote waters surrounding Indonesia and the Philippines. We work only with partners who fish responsibly and handle their catch with the same care we bring to everything we source.
Sashimi-grade and sushi-grade indicate that fish has been handled and flash-frozen to standards safe for raw consumption, including freezing temperatures that neutralize parasites. Our yellowfin tuna meets those standards.
Yellowfin has lean, firm flesh, a mild flavor, and a rich red color. It's what most home cooks reach for when making sushi, searing steaks, or building a poke bowl. Bluefin is richer and far more expensive, the kind you'll find at high-end restaurants, prized for its toro belly cuts. For most kitchens, yellowfin is the better fit.
Yellowfin has a clean, meaty flavor that holds up well whether you're searing it or eating it raw. Albacore has paler flesh and a softer texture, and it's more commonly sold canned as white tuna. If you're searing or building a poke bowl, yellowfin is the cut for the job.

We love it seared rare with sesame and soy, or sliced thin for sushi. Try it in ahi tuna tacos, a quick tartare, an ahi tuna salad, or blackened in a cast-iron skillet for something with a little more heat.

To sear ahi tuna, pat the steak dry, season well with salt and pepper, and cook it fast in a hot pan. Yellowfin is lean, and overcooking dries it out fast.
