  • (3 lbs) Beef Soup Bones
  • (2) Large onions, chopped
  • (1) Medium leek, chopped
  • (3) Carrots, chopped
  • (3) Cloves of garlic, smashed
  • (2) Bay leaves
  • (1 TBSP) Apple cider vinegar
  • A sprinkle of parsley and thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make a Tasty Beef Soup Bone Recipe

  1. Preheat your oven: Set your ovento 450 degrees F. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil.
  2. Place the beef bones on your lined baking tray. Roast them in the oven for 40 minutes, turning them over halfway through. 
  3. Transfer the beef bones: Once cooked, gently place the beef bones into a large stock pot. Pour in any leftover juices from the baking sheet. 
  4. Add half the vegetables: Toss in half of the onions, carrots, leeks, and garlic into your pot. Then, pour just enough water in to cover them. 
  5. Season: Add the bay leaves, parsley, thyme, salt, pepper, and apple cider vinegar. 
  6. Bring to a boil: Heat your broth over medium until it boils, then lower to a simmer. Cover and cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. 
  7. Allow to cool: Once cooled, use a strainer to filter the broth while pouring it from one pot to another. You want to ensure there are no solids.
  8. Add remaining vegetables: Put the remainder of your vegetables in the now-filtered broth and simmer until cooked. 

How Long Does Vegetable Beef Bone Soup Take to Cook?

This vegetable beef bone soup takes about five hours in total. First, you’ll need to roast the grass-fed bones in the oven for about 40 minutes to unlock their flavor.
