An Easter Message from Seven Sons

happy-easter-from-seven-sons.jpgHappy Easter Sunday!

Would it be OK if I shared a personal message with you this morning?

As I type this post, I'm reminded how as a small child we would wake up before dawn to attend Easter service as a family.

It was a tradition for our congregation to gather in a cleared wooded area near our church as Pastor Denny would lead us in an Easter message.

I was probably only 6 or 7 years old but I can vividly remember the beauty of seeing the sunrise through the trees.

It's funny how some memories never leave us... I feel fortunate for my childhood and fond memories I can cherish.

Personally for our family... Easter is about experiencing a true sense of gratitude for the hope that forgiveness brings.

It's been said by philosophers from all walks of life that... gratitude and forgiveness are two of life's most powerful human emotions.

You don't have to live too many years on this earth before you discover the inescapable reality that life is full of ups and downs.

Many of us have experienced the incomparable joys of bringing new life into this world. Some of us are enjoying life's fullness through grandchildren. Yet at the same time perhaps you've also faced great pain, loss or uncertainty. Easter is about victory over all!

Wherever you find yourself right now at this very moment... I encourage you to rest in the forgivenesspeace, and hope offered through the risen Christ.“

According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” - 1 Peter 1:3

"Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it." - Mark Twain

On behalf of my parents, brothers and my entire family... we wish you and those you love a very blessed Easter!

Sincerely,

- Blaine Hitzfield (the 2nd son)

A Winter Update From the Farm

Bruce (the 6th son) here with a farm update for December 2024. In this winter farm production update, I'll discuss a few projects we've recently moved to completion and paint a vision for what's still coming as 2024 nears its end.

French Chefs Visit the Farm

Earlier this month, Spencer and I had the privilege of hosting some incredible chefs from France for a farm tour. They are here in Indiana competing in the World Food Championships which are being hosted in Indianapolis. Last year, their team actually won the World Burger Championship! 🍔 While prepping for their event down in Indianapolis (about 90 minutes South of us), they looked online for a local farm to partner with to grab the meats they'd use for their competition.
