If you love bacon, sausage, and lots of cheesy goodness then you are going to love this pizza.
And if that’s not reason enough to try this recipe, it’s made with only local ingredients that can be purchased from our farm. No big supermarket required.
And did I mention it’s gluten free?
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Makes 1 large pizza
1 package BeeFree Bakery Ready to Roll Pizza Crust
8 oz Local Folks Foods Pizza Sauce
8 oz Organic Valley Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1/2 lb Seven Sons Italian Sausage
4 slices Seven Sons Pork Bacon
4 slices Seven Sons Premium Canadian Bacon
1 TBS Olive oil
Cook sausage over medium high heat until cooked through and no longer pink.
Fry both types of bacon until done but not crispy. Place cooked bacon on a paper towel lined plate to soak up the excess grease. Cut up both types of bacon into one inch pieces.
Coat a jelly roll pan or round pizza pan with olive oil. Place the pizza dough on the pan and spread out with your hands or roll out with a rolling pin (you can wet your hands with a little water to prevent the dough from sticking to them).
Shred the cheese.
Next, assemble the pizza by pouring the pizza sauce onto the rolled out dough, use more or less depending on your preference. Cover with the cheese, then evenly spread all three types of meat over entire pizza.
Bake at 400° for 12-14 minutes or until cheese is just starting to brown.
Note: We always dip our pizza in BBQ sauce, the Local Folks Foods Honey BBQ is great with pizza. I had actually never heard of this until eating at a local pizza place here in Roanoke several years ago where they serve a little cup of BBQ sauce with their pizza.
Does anyone else dip their pizza in BBQ sauce or is this just a local thing? If you haven’t tried it yet I highly recommend it.
