Southern Style Green Beans With Bacon (Kid approved!)

Finally a green bean recipe the kids will love! The Seven Sons Kitchen Studio brings you Southern Style Green Beans featuring Husk Green Beans and Seven Sons Pastured Pork Bacon. This recipe will be the perfect side dish at your next BBQ or holiday event. Be sure to make extra because this is one side dish that won't last long!


1 - 12 oz package of Husk Green Beans (On Sale!)
4 - slices of Seven Sons Farm Pork Bacon or 3 oz of Bacon Ends
1 - Small Vidalia Sweet Organic Onion
Bourbon Barrel Smoked Black Pepper to taste


Step 1 - Dice the onion and bacon

Step 2 - In a large pot, add the diced bacon and cook until slightly crispy, and most of the bacon fat has rendered on medium high heat.  Next add the diced onion and stir to coat in the bacon drippings and cook till the onion is translucent, about 5 - 10 minutes.  Next add the green beans and stir to incorporate with the onions and bacon.  Add the smoked pepper to taste

 Step 3 - Reduce heat to low/simmer and cook the beans for 30 - 60 minutes, or desired doneness has been achieved
